Guide to Dorset's beaches

Middle Beach (Studland)

Middle Beach (Studland)

Located between Knoll beach and South beach is Middle beach (of course!). However, the beach is actually quite a long way down the sandy stretch of Studland bay.

Much of what applies to Knoll beach is true of Middle beach. It is still part of the National Trust's nature reserve, with the sandy beach backed by sand dunes and heath. This heathland is threaded with trails and the area is known for its concentration of wild flowers.

From Middle beach are perhaps some of the best views of Old Harry Rocks, the iconic limestone sea stacks that separate Studland from Swanage bay.
